This trip will include stops at our Lord's birthplace in Bethlehem and well as five days in the holy city of Jerusalem where Christ's passion and resurrection occurred. While in Jerusalem, we will visit the Mount of Olives, the walled city of Old Jerusalem, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and the Holocaust Museum, to mention a few. Outside of Jerusalem, the journey continues in Galilee where Jesus performed most of his miracles and did most of his preaching concerning the Kingdom of God.
While there we will visit the Mount of the Beatitudes, Caesarea, Haifa, and Megiddo, as well as Capernaum and the place where the multiplication of the fish and loaves took place. The last part of the journey takes us for a "float" in the Dead Sea and an exploration of Qumran and Masada.

Bereavement Support in Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity This January we will be offering a 7-week Bereavement series for those who have lost a spouse within the past 3-12 months. announced later in upcoming parish bulletins. For further details, please contact Debbie Brine

Advent is the beginning of a new year, a new start. Join us for a time of meditation, a time spent with Jesus in the garden or the desert, praying, being in the Presence of His Father. In Matthew 6, Jesus told us to "go into that secret interior space and pray in silence" and emptying ourselves, getting rid of the ego, giving up our will and becoming poor in spirit, allows the Holy Spirit to fill up the empty spaces. Our Sacred Space Christian Meditation Community invites you to join us on Friday
evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Day Chapel at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for a time of silence, being in the Presence of God, through Jesus and the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Call Dianne, 386-6094 for more info or if you have any questions.
This month, Development and Peace - Caritas Canada educates the Canadian population about the
causes of poverty and works hard to mobilize us towards action for change. This year the special emphasis has been supporting women in their search for social and economic justice. As it has since its formation 50 years ago, Development and Peace continues to support local initiatives in agriculture, education, community action, as well as consolidation of peace and advocacy for human rights in 70 countries! In the case of a man-made or natural disaster, Development and Peace is able to respond quickly because of the long-term relationships and the strength of the partnerships that exist, in the poorest countries of the world. News reports currently bring us a good example of the ability of the Development and Peace to respond to world-wide, tragic events. Development and Peace brings our love to the less fortunate around the world! Knowing this - we bring your attention to the situation in Myanmar! (Burma) A fresh outbreak of violence in Myanmar has caused hundreds of thousands of civilians to flee to Bangladesh. The exodus began on August 25 after militants at th tacked police posts, killing members of the security forces. Those attacks led to a security crackdown and those who have fled, say troops are conducting a brutal campaign to drive them out. The Rohingya - a stateless, mostly Muslim minority group, have faced years of persecution in Myanmar. Deep-seated tensions between them and the majority Buddhist population have led to deadly communal violence in the past.. Development and Peace - Caritas Canada has supported its
partner Caritas Bangladesh with $50,000 in emergency funds to provide aid to refugee families,
focussing its efforts on saving lives by ensuring food distribution to more than 25,000 people.
For full details, please use this link and it will give you a full series of articles concerning the situation
and the work of Development and Peace today: You can also reach Dan Stote at 204-3651 or for more information.
